Hello World — Big Changes Coming to kristopheracephotography.co

For years, I’ve been chasing the “perfect” photography website template — the perfect layout, the perfect organization, the perfect functionality. Honestly? I never found it. Every platform felt like a compromise somewhere. Something was always missing.

But with the rise of AI tools, especially Anthropic’s Claude, I finally decided to stop forcing myself into someone else’s template and start building exactly what I wanted. Through a lot of experimentation, late nights, and what people now call “vibe coding,” this site slowly became something that actually feels like mine.

One of the biggest goals I had was organizing my albums in a way that felt immersive instead of buried inside endless folders and menus. That’s why the Albums section is built around an interactive globe with pins placed around the world. Click a location, and you’ll find the photographs from that trip along with stories, experiences, and a little behind-the-scenes look at what was happening when those images were captured. Eventually, I’d love to expand that even further — maybe adding voice narration, maybe video. Who knows where it’ll go from here.

The site itself is broken into a few main sections:

Portfolio is exactly what it sounds like — the work I personally consider my strongest. This section won’t change constantly. A photo has to earn its way in there.

Gallery is more fluid. These are my newest photographs and recent edits, usually covering the last few months of shooting.

Albums is the archive — organized primarily by location and travel experience. This is where the deeper stories live.

I’m also hoping to eventually implement a keyword search system so you can easily find specific subjects, locations, or styles of photography without digging through everything manually.

Then there’s Journal — which is what you’re reading right now. This is where I’ll usually post first: stories behind the shoots, updates to the site, travel experiences, experiments, failures, wins, and whatever else is happening creatively.

The About and Contact sections are pretty self-explanatory, but I’d genuinely love to hear from people who visit the site. Feedback, ideas, suggestions, travel recommendations, or even a “you should go photograph this” message — I’m always open to it.

And hopefully sooner rather than later, I plan to open a storefront with prints available for purchase, ranging from postcards all the way up to large fine art wall displays.

At the end of the day, this entire site is still evolving. It’s a living project — part portfolio, part travel log, part creative experiment. Thanks for taking the time to explore it, and I truly hope you enjoy the photographs as much as I enjoyed creating them.
